Wheatfield Little League is honored to create the Eric Cole Memorial Scholarship. August 5, 2017, just days shy of his 5th Birthday, Eric James Cole’s life was tragically cut short. Eric played T-Ball for one season for the Wheatfield Little League. His T-Ball Coach, Luz Tillema, stated that, “In addition to being a great teammate- his contagious smile and infectious laugh will never be forgotten”. On the outside of the third base T-Ball Dugout, Eric’s memorial plaque was placed during the 2018 closing ceremony. The plaque serves as a constant reminder to the community of the WHY we spend our days, nights and weekends at these fields, 3-4 months per year, for the love of the game and the community it provides. This scholarship will offer kids the opportunity to play ball for Wheatfield Little League who may not have otherwise been able to play due to financial restraints. Money for this scholarship will be funded from generous donations from the community and sponsors.
